Break the Chains First Year Finale is coming to the Blair County Convention Center March 13, 2022!

ENTRY DEADLINE

On-line Entries must be received and paid-in-full by Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:59 PM.  Walk-in entries accepted at weigh-ins.​

AGE DIVISIONS, WEIGHT CLASSES & PERIOD LENGTHS

Age as of 12/31/2021.  One pound (1lb) weight allowance for all divisions. Three, one-minute periods for all divisions with modified overtime rules.  We will wrestle for True Second.

  • 5U (Age 5 or under) - SESSION I

    30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 80 ​(+1)

  • 7U (Age 7 or under) - SESSION II

    40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 100​ (+1)

  • 9U (Age 9 or under) - 1-Minute Periods - SESSION I

50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 105, 115, 140​ (+1)

  • 11U (Age 11 or under) - 1-Minute Periods - SESSION II

55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 110, 120, 135, 150, 165​ (+1)

WEIGHT CLASS CHANGES

Weight class changes can be made through Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 9:00 PM for no additional charge by e-mailing btcwrestlingusa@gmail.com.  Please note the tournament, the wrestler's full name, and the age/weight class you wish to move to.  Your weight class change is not official until you receive a confirmation e-mail from the Tournament Director via btcwrestlingusa@gmail.com.  Weight changes after March 9th can be made at the scale for a fee of $20 (Cash Only).

ENTRY FEE

·    Early-Bird On-line Registration by 3/4, 11:59PM - $35

·    On-line Registration from 3/5 to 3/11 - $45

·    Walk-in Registration on 3/13 - $55

·    Second bracket in a double-bracket entry is $30*

*Wrestler may double-bracket but can only register for one bracket in a single SESSION

SPLIT-START TIMES & WEIGH-INS

All weigh-ins will be conducted at the BLAIR COUNTY CONVENTION CENTER.  If wrestling in multiple sessions, you only need to weigh-in for your first session.​Wrestlers must make weight in a competition singlet.

EARLY BIRD WEIGH-INS

SATURDAY, MARCH 12, 6-8PM​

FEE OF $20 MUST BE PAID IN CASH

SESSION I: WRESTLING STARTS AT 9AM

WEIGH-INS & WALK-IN REGISTRATIONS FROM 7-7:45 AM

5U, 9U 

SESSION II: WRESTLING STARTS AT 2PM

WEIGH-INS & WALK-IN REGISTRATIONS FROM 7-7:45AM OR 11AM-NOON

OPEN: 7U, 11U

WALK-IN REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED

  • Single Bracket Entry: $55

  • Second Bracket Entry: $30

  • Weight Changes @ Scale permitted - Fee is $20

​​​​​​RULES

  • Open to male and female wrestlers. 

  • Brackets will be double-elimination or round-robin depending on number of entries.

  • True Second matches will be offered.

  • Tournament director reserves the right to combine weight classes if needed.

  • Headgear is optional; however highly recommended. 

  • All wrestlers must make weight in a competition singlet.

  • Birth certificates must be available if requested via age challenge. 

  • College out-of-bounds.  

  • Modified scholastic rules used for all divisions.  Referee decisions final. Absolutely no arguing with referees or abuse of referees will be tolerated. 

​​AWARDS

The top 4 Placewinners each each division will receive a trophy.  Champions will also receive a  CHAMPION T-Shirt.

​​SPECTATORS

Unlimited spectators permitted to attend.  All spectators must adhere to current state and county COVID-19 protocols including face coverings and social distancing if in effect.  Bag Chairs recommended.  

  • General Admission - $10

  • Students K-6 $5

  • Ages 5 & Under - Free

AGE PROTESTS

Age Protest fee is $50, and must be directed to the Tournament Director. All age protests must be made before protested wrestler's second match. Birth certificate must be available for all wrestlers in case of a protest.  Remember, tournament age is as-of 12/31/2021.  However old the wrestler is on December 31, 2021 is the wrestler's age.  

REFUND POLICY

Refunds should be requested via e-mail to btcwrestlingusa@gmail.com prior to March 2, 2022.  Refunds will be issued on a case-by-case basis, typically for injury or illness only.  The refund amount will equal the registration fee minus a $10 processing fee.  The processing fee covers the transaction costs charged by our vendors associated with receiving your registration and issuing the refund.  Refund requests submitted after March 1, 2022 will not be approved in any case.  Refunds will be issued within 30 days of approval.
